The opening Hunt Members race looks as if it could be a formality for Mistissio who could see former top rider Richard Smith come out of retirement to ride him, he won this race last year and could take it again, the only two other dangers include Dream Flyer and Express Du Berlais, however their recent form is un-inspiring and both have a 10lb penalty to make life even harder. Rough To Ready could have a squeak, however he is an inexperienced maiden but could sneak into the frame.
Selection - Mistissio
The Intermediate is full of potential improvers, including recent course winner Ancient Empire, he has done nothing wrong this season, although he was beaten by Streets Of Milan at the Holderness and that form may stand, however the latter is likely to take his chances in the Heart Of All England on Saturday night. Exit Ten took his restricted in good style last time, whilst Sam's Treasure found hunter chasing a bit too much last time, she was close up for a long way at Charm Park until falling late on and could take the placings, but it looks between Maguires Bridge and Matt's Commission, the former was third behind two useful Open horses last time and this drop in grade could see him go close, however Matt's Commission has always been held in high regard by Jack Teal and was an easy winner last time out at the Bedale. Selection - Matt's Commission
The Restricted race doesn't look to have a great deal of depth to it but recent course winner Royal Chant could take advantage of this weak contest, he bolted up here last time and benefited with better ground, his only danger could be from Eurobond, she has taken time to come to hand and the drying ground could be a key factor in that, her recent third was a well held performance although it was on heavy ground and can do better. Monsun Storm looks frustrating and could be risky to follow, where as Arny broke his long standing maiden tag in the Members race last time, he acts well at this track and could sneak a place. Spruce Up ran his best race this season when chasing home Ancient Empire here two weeks ago.
Selection - Royal Chant
The Mens Open could go the way of either Cherry Coward trained horses, The Mobile Man looked to hold every chance here last time when taking a crashing fall and Battle Range ran an encouraging fifth at Charm Park, he was once a decent performer prior to a lengthy absence and will benefit from better ground. Young Dillon has plenty of ability but looks to have ideas of his own, whilst Sposalizio was disappointing at Easingwold and will have to bounce back to form if he his take take on his fourth race in as many weeks. Argot could be the best of these, however three miles looks to stretch him and the hunter chase he won was over two miles, Clonea Power could make its seasonal debut, whilst Kings Lodge was outclassed at Hexham and this will be more to his liking.
Selection - The Mobile Man
The Ladies Open could see another easy success from Knocklong, he won with plenty of authority here two weeks ago where he beat Rumble Of Thunder and doesn't look to have anything of that calibre to take on this time, Argot may be better suited here with less weight on his back and would be the main danger, whilst Too Begin was a useful Ladies winner last season but has yet to hit top form and Hand Act Or Part could make a bold bid from the front under Emma Todd after a good third here previously. Selection - Knocklong
The final race is an Open Maiden and with 28 entries it has potential to divide, Baraymi was a close second here last time and is knocking on the door, he should set the standard here, along with the Robin Tate pair in Clashganny and Impulsive Act who have both been running well on their last couple of runs. Jamars Star can be forgiven a below par effort last time out and can do better with the form of his two previous maidens working out very well and if on song could go very well, whilst the stable also has the option of Financier, a son of Dubawi with plenty of black type in his breeding and if realising his pedigree could be an eye catching debutant. Joy At Midnight and Mr Wiggins both ran pleasing races here at the last meeting, with the latter been the more likely improver when third in his Members race. Raleagh Mountain bounced back to form at Easingwold when third and could make a quick turn around after running at Easingwold. Sweetsinging River could be given a chance also after unseating four out at the Bedale when travelling well.
